The Enterprise and Development Manager of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (SMEDA), Melvin H. Foray has said the Munafa fund is steady and running smoothly with four thousand small and medium enterprises benefiting from the ongoing first cycle.
He disclosed that they are going to have a two day dialogue forum with key players including the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), NGOs, Development Partners and Donor Agencies on 5th and 6th August,2021 to interact and develop a framework which will serve as a strategy for the development of SMEs at districts and regional levels.
He noted that the SMEs are their primary interest adding that SMEDA wishes to reach more Sierra Leoneans by the next cycle if all goes well. He said the dialogue will pave a smooth path for the implementation of strategic coordination in the regions and districts of Sierra Leone.
Financial experts have opined that it is early to establish the significant impacts the Munafa fund has created since March 2021 when it was officially launched. It is believed that the Brookfields Hotel forum will pave the way for the coordination of SMEs and further address the bread and butter issue in the country.
