In what has been seen as a cabinet shake-up possibly connected to performance, President Julius Maada Bio has replaced and switched minsters. Former Minister of Lands Housing and Planning Dr. Denis Sandy is the notable name that has caught the attention of the public among those sacked.
The cabinet reshuffle of sort was announced in a State House Press Release of Monday 18th 2021.
According to the release, Dr. Dennis Sandy has been replaced by Dr. Turad Senesie who was the former Deputy Minister of Technical and Higher Education.
Dr. Sandy who many citizens see as a very controversial during his tenure was sacked together with Mr. Sadiq Sillah, Deputy Minister of Transport and Aviation, Dr. Robert Tamba Michael Chakanda Deputy Minister of Planning and Economic Development and Abu Kokofele, Commissioner, National Commission for Social Action (NaCSA).
There is evidently public support for the cabinet shake-up as it affects the former Lands Minister with social media Facebook and whatsapp comments reading:
“Lord Sandy is out! Good riddance! What a great gift to celebrate the end of the civil war today by sacking the man who waged war on people’s right and access to land and abused his power like he was a self-declared commando at a war-front”.
The former Minister of Health and Sanitation Professor Alpha T. Wurie has been moved to the Ministry of Technical and Higher Education as full Minister where he was during the era of late President Tejan Kabbah. Dr. Wurie is replaced by Dr. Austin Demby.
Dr. Sao-Kpato Hannah Isata Max-Kyne has also been promoted as Commissioner of NaCSA.
