Poor road network in Kono District has allegedly undermined government’s institutional delivering in the country. This is according to the town chief of Massabendu in Nimiyama Chiefdom, Kono District, Chief Yankuba Tarawally when talking to our correspondent. He maintained that the said poor road network has not only undermined the much talked about government’s institutional delivery but it has equally affected the shortage of the Free Health Care drugs in the aforementioned town because drivers find it difficult to ply the road leading to the town.
Furthermore, Chief Yankuba Tarawally told our reporter that the lack of the basic amenities in his town cannot be unconnected with the reported poor road Network. Safe and pure drinking water, health facilities and many more, a situation he described as unfortunate.
The town chief of Massabendu has therefore pleaded with the central government through the Kono District Council, Humanitarian organizations and philanthropists to come to their aid in addressing the highlighted challenges especially the poor road network.
The chief said children and women in Massabendu town find it very difficult to access school and health facilities when the need arises.
