Herbalist Drowns in Moa River

Reports reaching this medium have indicated that a man from the area known as Burma Four in Kenema district has drowned in the Moa River while performing a ceremony in the river.

Kamor Mohamed is said to have taken three people along to have a ritual ceremony without informing the village people. Successfully, he performed the first ceremony and was on the second when both of them drowned. However, the man was seen struggling and was rescued by sand miners who rushed to the scene using a long stick which he grabbed. Whereas the herbalist body has not been found.

The Chief of Tailoma village where the incidence occurred, Boima Swarray said a relative of the herbalist called Musa who is a driver has approached him with other relatives seeking permission from the Chief to do a ceremony with a white fowl and some eggs so that the body of the herbalist will be found. 

 According to the Chief, he refused to grant them permission without the presence of the police who are investigating the matter. The Chief has said on no account would anyone be allowed to baptize or carry out any form of ceremony in the Moa river without seeking permission. 

Over the years, sand miners have drowned in that river due to accidents and during the rains when the river is full; more people have become victims.
