The Sierra Leone Ports and Harbours Authority (#SLPHA) has continued its impressive run in the ongoing Inter-MDA Football Tournament, recording another hard-fought victory, this time against the Ministry of Health, courtesy of an 80th-minute strike from Kemoh Kargbo.

In what proved to be another closely contested encounter, both teams battled fiercely, with neither side willing to give much away. But just when the match appeared to be heading towards a stalemate, Kargbo stepped up to make the difference.

The SLPHA forward found the breakthrough in the 80th minute, firing home the decisive goal from a distance, to hand the Ports and Harbours Authority a crucial lead and sparking jubilant celebrations among players, officials and supporters. The late winner ensured that SLPHA walked away with another victory, following its earlier 1 – 0 triumph over the Office of the President, where Umar Mansaray scored a dramatic 84th-minute header.

The Authority’s Director General, Yankuba Askia Bio, who also serves as captain of the team, continues to lead the Ports side in the competition. While the Deputy Director General, Madam Judith Kosseh leads the cheers as the Waterfront Men played amazing football.

With two matches and two victories, SLPHA is making its presence felt in the tournament, demonstrating determination, teamwork and a winning mentality.

For the Waterfront Men, the message is becoming clear: the final whistle is the only time to relax! The Waterfront Men take on Ministry of Labour next on Thursday 5th November, 2026 at 4:00 p.m.
