The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) Referees Department has conducted a one-day training programme for referees ahead of the commencement of the new football league season.
The training brought together match officials as part of the department’s efforts to ensure referees are physically fit, technically prepared and familiar with the latest developments in the Laws of the Game.
The programme included physical fitness exercises and fitness tests, as well as classroom sessions covering refereeing techniques, match management and the implementation of the latest amendments to the Laws of the Game.
The sessions were facilitated by Sanusie Rashid, SLFA Referees Manager, and Daudu Williams, Vice Chairman of the SLFA Referees Committee, who provided technical guidance and practical insights to the participating referees.
The training forms part of the Referees Department’s preparations to ensure match officials enter the new season with the required level of fitness, knowledge, confidence and consistency.
As the new season approaches, the department continues to strengthen the capacity of referees and promote high standards of officiating across Sierra Leone’s football competitions.
