Twenty-nine-year-old Tejan Kabbia, a labourer, has been remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown by Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2.
Kabbia is facing one count of Fraudulent Conversion, contrary to Section 20(1) (IV) (b) of the Larceny Act, 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at No. 3 Main Road, Congo Town, in the Western Area of Freetown, Kabbia allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit certain property entrusted to him by Amadu Bah.
The property allegedly comprised seven bags of flour and one carton of yeast, with a total value of NLe6, 120. The items had allegedly been entrusted to Kabbia for delivery to Alpha Jalloh.
When the charge was read and explained to him, Kabbia pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, DPC 18235 Kebbie K. Thoronka, informed the court that the accused had been served with a copy of the case file and inquiry file.
Kabbia, who was not legally represented, confirmed receipt of the documents.
Magistrate Fornah subsequently refused bail, citing the nature of the alleged offence, and remanded Kabbia at the Male Correctional Facility.
The matter was adjourned to October 13, 2026.
