Mason Remanded Over Alleged House Breaking & Larceny

Twenty-one-year-old Abdulai Jalloh, a mason, has been remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown after appearing before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on three counts of house breaking and larceny, contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act of 1961.

According to the particulars of the offences, on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Long Bench, Imatt Junction, Mountain Rural District, Western Area, Freetown, Jalloh allegedly broke into the dwelling house of Santigie Kargbo with intent to steal.

It was alleged that he stole Le5, 000 in cash, three pairs of jeans trousers, three pairs of black shoes and other assorted items, with a total alleged value of Le7, 510, belonging to Santigie Kargbo.

The second count alleged that, on the same date and at the same location, Jalloh broke into the dwelling house of Isha Kargbo and stole Le20, 000 in cash, a set of female jewellery, a set of human hair and other assorted items, with a total alleged value of Le33, 950.

The third count alleged that Jalloh also broke into the dwelling house of Abdulai Conteh and stole Le4, 000 in cash, one Samsung A6 Android mobile phone and other assorted items, with a total alleged value of Le8, 100.

During the proceedings, the prosecution was led by Sergeant 3379 Theresa Ballay, who presented three witnesses. The witnesses were cross-examined by the accused.

Following the proceedings, Magistrate Fornah refused bail and ordered Jalloh to be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown.

The matter was adjourned to October 7, 2026.
