The Public Relations Officer of DICOVERC in Bo District, Jonathan Hindolo Kurabu has disclosed that they have mounted a robust investigation into an allege sale of COVID 19 vaccination cards in Bo District by two staff of the Ministry of Health and Sanitation.
A-Z learnt that following the arrest of some staff of DICOVERC in the Western Area by the Scorpion Squad of the Anti-Corruption Commission over allege sale of the COVID 19 vaccination Card, the DICOVERC in Bo put in place a robust monitoring of COVID 19 vaccination which might have led to suspicion leading to arrest of the saboteurs of the process.
Speaking to this medium, the Public Relations Officer of DICOVERC in Bo District, Jonathan Hindolo Kurabu said that those who are being investigated are staff being recruited for the administration of COVID- 19 vaccination by the ministry of health and Sanitation.
According to him, the Bo District Medical Officer has not released information about them as they are being investigated and want to protect the rights of the people under investigations.
Mr. Kurabu said that they are being constrained with staff and their bikes are parked for maintenance.
He noted that these are among the challenges they are facing in the fight against COVID-19 but stated that everybody should come on board to fight against the deadly pandemic.
He went on to say that a principal in Bo was arrested for organizing a graduation ceremony and did not observe the COVID 19 regulation and was fined five hundred thousand Leones.
He further encouraged the people of Bo and the country at large to adhere to all COVID-19 regulations to avoid embarrassment.
Mr. Kurabu disclosed that after reporting on the single oxygen machine that is available at the Bo Government Hospital, health officials including the minister visited Bo and promised to provide about five oxygen machines at the Bo Government Hospital.
He added that the Bo Government Hospital is now under the administration of Dr. Amara as the Medical Superintendent after the substantive medical superintendent, Augustine Fomba resigned.
