The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has provided a total of US$200,000 to the Men’s and Women’s Premier League Boards to support preparations for the 2026/2027 league season.
Each board received US$100,000 to assist with operational and administrative activities ahead of the new campaign, which is scheduled to begin on October 10, 2026.
The financial support comes as clubs across the country intensify preparations for the new season, including strengthening their squads through the recruitment and signing of players.
The SLFA, under the leadership of President Babadi Kamara, said the funding forms part of its efforts to strengthen domestic football and support the effective organization of the Premier League.
The 2026/2027 season will feature 16 clubs competing in the Men’s Premier League, with participating teams currently engaged in preparations ahead of the October 10 kick-off.
The SLFA has wished both Premier League Boards, participating clubs and all stakeholders a successful preparation and a productive 2026/2027 season.
