Ahead of the Port Loko District All People’s Congress (APC) election scheduled for September 26, 2026, Ing. Mohamed Sylvanus Kamara has outlined his vision for strengthening the party’s public relations and communication structures in the district.
Kamara, who is seeking the position of Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the APC in Port Loko District, said his focus would be to build, manage and protect the party’s public image while strengthening communication between party leaders, the media and the public.
He said, if elected, he would coordinate media interviews and press conferences and establish strong working relationships with journalists to effectively communicate the party’s activities, programmes and policies.
Kamara also identified crisis management as one of his priorities. He said he would respond promptly to negative publicity, address misinformation and help protect the party’s reputation during periods of controversy or crisis.
He further pledged to oversee the party’s online platforms, engage directly with voters and monitor public sentiment across the district.
According to Kamara, he would also organize and support community events, rallies and outreach programmes aimed at strengthening engagement between APC leaders and residents of Port Loko District.
He said professionalism, confidentiality and sound decision-making would guide his work, particularly during high-pressure political campaigns and unexpected situations.
Kamara said he intended to use available communication channels to build, maintain and manage the reputation of the APC in the district.
In an increasingly digital environment, he said he would conduct research, analyze public feedback and continuously evaluate the party’s communication and campaign strategies.
He also pledged to conduct interviews and focus-group discussions, coordinate surveys where necessary, review relevant reports and articles, and assess the progress and public engagement of the APC in the district.
“I will initiate and plan campaigns, define goals, analyze problems and opportunities, and liaise with the District Chairman. I will write and edit press releases, in-house newsletters, speeches, articles and annual reports; maintain and update information on the district platforms; and use the APC symbol to promote and maintain the party’s identity, name and reputation,” he said.
Kamara further pledged to represent the party at public meetings and press conferences and participate in radio and television interviews.
“I will also develop and maintain good working relations with the media, including local and national newspapers, magazines, radio and television,” he added.
He appealed to APC delegates in Port Loko District to support his candidacy and vote for him in the September 26 election, saying his election would enable him to contribute to strengthening the party’s communication and public engagement in the district.
