Eighteen-year-old Alie Ramadan Kabia, son of late Makeni hip-hop star Francis S. Kabia, popularly known as F.S.K., has signed his first professional football contract with Norwegian club Vålerenga Football.
Kabia’s contract with the five-time Norwegian champions runs until 2030, following an impressive 2025/26 season with Star Sports Academy in the League Rock Premier League. He scored seven goals, provided three assists and won three Man of the Match awards during the campaign.
The young forward has also represented Sierra Leone at various junior levels. He skipped the Under-17 level before joining the Under-20 squad that finished as runners-up at the 2024 West African Football Union (WAFU) tournament in Liberia.
His move to professional football comes nearly three years after the death of his father in November 2023, following a prolonged illness.
Reflecting on the achievement, Kabia said he was happy to have fulfilled a dream his late father had always believed was possible.
“I know you are a star,” Kabia recalled his father telling him.
He said F.S.K. had remained confident in his ability even when others doubted his potential.
“It breaks my heart that you aren’t here to see your prophecy come true, but I know you’re looking down with the biggest smile. My name is out there now, just like you always said it would be,” Kabia said.
He dedicated his achievement to his late father, whom he described as his biggest supporter, and vowed to keep his memory alive.
“Thank you for believing in your star. With all my love,” he added.
Sierra Leonean football agent Chernor Musa Jalloh, who played a key role in facilitating Kabia’s move to Vålerenga, described the deal as a joyous moment. He praised the teenager for his humility, patience and determination.
“We are very excited to work with you and support your career,” Jalloh said.
F.S.K. made his mark on Sierra Leone’s music scene in 2008 after forming a duo with King Melody, now known as Alieu Melody. The pair became prominent figures in the country’s entertainment industry before F.S.K. pursued a solo career.
He later founded the All Tribe Movement (ATM), where he served as Chief Executive Officer, and collaborated with artistes including Innocent, Pizzy (PM) and Black Snoop.
His song “Kom Po Yor,” featuring True Melody, also gained international attention from the BBC during the 2012 elections.
Although F.S.K. faced challenges in his personal life and music career, his legacy continues through his son, whose emerging football career is now taking him onto the international stage.
