Twenty-year-old Amadu Koroma has been remanded at the Male Correctional Centre in Freetown after appearing before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 on a charge of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Thoronka Drive, Leicester Village, Western Area, Freetown, Koroma allegedly stole eight empty bottle crates, folding chairs, six folding tables, one full set of Coleman tables and other assorted items.
The stolen items were allegedly valued at Le54, 150.00 and are said to be the property of Hajaratu Soko Sesay.
When the charge was read and explained to him, Koroma pleaded not guilty.
The prosecution was represented by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, who informed the court that his witness was absent. He subsequently applied for a subpoena to compel the witness to appear before the court.
Magistrate Fornah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the alleged offence, and remanded Koroma at the Male Correctional Centre.
The matter has been adjourned to September 22, 2026, for further proceedings.
