The High Court of Sierra Leone, General Civil Division, has issued an interim injunction restraining Cricket Sierra Leone Company Limited from holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM), which was scheduled for Friday, September 11, 2026.
The order was granted by Justice Mark Ngegba on Friday, September 11, 2026, in Miscellaneous Application No. 204/26.
The matter was brought by Murray Town Cricket Club, suing as a member of Cricket Sierra Leone Company Limited, and Emmanuel Pessima, suing in his capacity as a Board Member and Director of Development of the company.
The applicants named Cricket Sierra Leone Company Limited, described in the proceedings as a company limited by guarantee, and Francis Trevor Samura, Chairman of Cricket Sierra Leone Company Limited, as the defendants/respondents.
According to the court order, the application followed an ex-parte Notice of Motion dated September 10, 2026, supported by an affidavit sworn to by Emmanuel Pessima, the second plaintiff/applicant.
After hearing submissions from counsel for the applicants, A. Kamanda and M. Katta, the court granted an interim injunction restraining the defendants/respondents, their servants, agents, or any other persons acting on their behalf from holding the company’s Annual General Meeting.
The injunction would remain in force until October 6, 2026, when the matter returns to court for further hearing.
The court also directed counsel for the applicants to serve all defendants/respondents with the order, together with all processes and applications filed in the matter, on or before September 14, 2026.
Counsel was further ordered to prepare and file an Affidavit of Service on or before October 6, 2026.
The matter was accordingly adjourned to October 6, 2026, for further hearing.
The court made no order as to costs.
