Police Intercepts Huge Cache of Ammunition

Police and customs officer attached at the Gbalamuya common border Post between Sierra Leone and Guinea have arrested 10 boxes containing a total of 10,000 pieces shot gun bullets. The incident happened on Tuesday the 6th july 2021.

The vehicle connected with the trafficking of the bullets carries the registration number RC 1416. According to the support officer of Kambia police division, the consignment of bullets was discovered by customs officers during their normal routine search at Gbalamuya crossing point. He added that the driver Saidu Beriya AKA Mende boy is on the run and the vehicle has been impounded.

ASP said the 10,000 pieces will be conveyed to Freetown tomorrow for further investigation. Kambia district and the entire country continue to experience fear owing to the porous nature of the border between Sierra Leone and Guinea.

Police headquarters in Freetown say the yet to confirm the story but Media Two, ASP Samuel Conteh, promised to find out the details and report to the media in due course.
