Three men have been sentenced to 18 months imprisonment by Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown after pleading guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit a felony and larceny.
The convicts are 29-year-old Alusine Kamara, an electrician; 23-year-old Morlai Mansaray, an unemployed man; and George Kamara.
They were convicted on two counts: conspiracy to commit a felony, contrary to law, and larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.
According to the police charge sheet, on Sunday, 12 July 2026, at Hamilton Street, Grassfield, Kissy, Freetown, within the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, the accused persons conspired with other persons unknown to commit a felony, namely larceny.
The second count alleged that on the same date and location, the three men stole a Tigi Max Generator valued at NLe 6,000, belonging to Amadu Bangura.
When the charges were read and explained to them, all three accused persons pleaded guilty.
Police Prosecutor Constable 18235 Kebbie K. Thoronka presented the facts of the case and informed the court that all three convicts were first-time offenders.
The convicts pleaded with the court for mercy, assuring the Magistrate that they would not engage in such acts again.
Delivering his judgment, Magistrate Fornah said he had taken into consideration the plea for leniency by the convicts, their status as first-time offenders, and the fact that they had permanently deprived the complainant of his property.
He therefore sentenced each convict on count one to six months imprisonment, to be served in full. On count two, he sentenced them to 18 months imprisonment, or in the alternative, restore the stolen generator to the complainant.
Magistrate Fornah ordered that the sentences be served in full.
