The Sierra Leone Cricket Association in collaboration with the Sports Writers of Sierra Leone has on the 7th July commenced a three days training course for Sports Journalists across the Country.
The purpose of the training is to help Journalists to improve on their Knowledge in reporting the game of Cricket both local and international.
According to the Chairman of the SLCA, Francis Trevor Samura said it means a lot for Sports Journalists across the country to go through such training because the aim is to ensure that most of the Sports Journalists should be able reports on Cricket, follow Cricket both locally and international so that the fans will know about the activities of the organization in the country.
He added that Communication is one key priority and the Association is looking forward to it in transforming and strengthen its activities in the Country. He added that the only way the Association can achieve its goals is to be in constant engagement with the media so the public will be knowledgeable about how the association is governed.
A total of 20 Sports Journalists are currently undergoing the three day training course at the Sierra Leone Police Wives Multi-purpose Hall in Kingtom and at the end of the training the Sports Journalists will receive certificates.
