The ongoing alleged housebreaking and larceny case involving Salim Fofanah, a painter, has come before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown.
Fofanah is facing one count charge of housebreaking and larceny, contrary to Section 26(1) of the Larceny Act, 1916.
According to the police charge sheet, the accused, on Thursday, 4 June 2026, at No. 12 Babadorie Hill, Lumley, Freetown, in the Western Area of the Republic of Sierra Leone, allegedly broke and entered the dwelling house of Dominic Lamin with intent to steal.
The charge sheet further stated that the accused allegedly stole one BJ drobe valued at Le2,700, US$2,700 equivalent to Le64,260, and one heavy-duty tools kit valued at US$600 equivalent to Le14,280.
The total value of the alleged stolen items was stated as Le78,540, all belonging to Dominic Lamin.
When the charge was read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken.
Prosecuting the matter, Sergeant 8811 Wilson informed the court that both the complainant and the witness were absent.
Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah ordered that subpoenas be issued and served on the prosecution witnesses and adjourned the matter to 28 July 2026 for further proceedings.
