Sierra Leone is gearing up to put on a show at the Rwanda ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup Division 2 Africa Qualifier, scheduled for August 9 through August 15, 2026.
The week-long race will bring together six nations: Uganda, Mozambique, Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, and host Rwanda.
The top three teams will advance from the Africa Division 2 regional qualifier to the Africa Division Men’s Qualification.
On Sunday August 8, Sierra Leone will open the Kigali showpiece against West African rival Ghana before facing host Rwanda the next.
In 2009, Sierra Leone successfully qualified for the global World Cup show held in Toronto, Canada from September 1 to September 13, 2009, after an impressive run at the ICC Africa Under-19 Championships in Zambia. However, visa restrictions barred the country from displaying its talents.
