The National Sports Authority (NSA) in collaboration with the Office of the Sports Ambassador, Mr. Charlie Bio Jr., is set to host the maiden edition of a nationwide football competition for Kekeh and Bike Riders across Sierra Leone.
Speaking during the first planning meeting held at the NSA Headquarters on Monday 13th July 2023, Executive Director Mohamed Alphaka Conteh, Esq. welcomed the delegation.
He said:”The aim of this competition is to promote peace among riders and to support President Bio’s agenda on youth empowerment and job creation. We also hope to use this platform to identify sporting talents who can represent Sierra Leone in the different regular sporting disciplines in the country.”
Chairman of the NSA Board, Mr. Ibrahim Nyelenkeh, noted that the tournament will help build a positive image and reputation for riders who are often blamed by members of the public for various issues.
National President of the Kekeh Riders Union, Ibrahim Serry, expressed gratitude to the NSA for the recognition.
“This is what we expect from the public because we are the people’s transport in the country. As Kekeh riders, we are more than ready for the competition,” he stated.
The meeting was organized and moderated by Sports Ambassador Charlie Bio Jr.
