The General Manager of Cricket Sierra Leone (CSL), Chrispin Ekundayo George, has successfully completed the TAFISA Certified Leadership Course (CLC) Level 1, hosted by the National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association of Sierra Leone (NOC/CGA-SL) with support from Olympic Solidarity in collaboration with TAFISA.
The four-day leadership programme, held from 8 to 11 July 2026 at the OlympAfrica Centre in Goderich, Freetown, brought together more than 40 sports administrators and emerging leaders from across Sierra Leone. The training was facilitated by international experts Elvis Nshimba of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Dr. Katongo Bwalya of Zambia.
The course focused on strengthening participants’ leadership, governance, and sports management skills. It provided practical knowledge in effective leadership, networking, inclusion, partnership development, resource mobilization, strategic planning, and aligning sports programmes with international, regional, and national policies.
Throughout the programme, participants were encouraged to become transformational leaders capable of using sport as a tool for social inclusion, healthy living, community development, and peacebuilding.
Speaking after completing the course, George reaffirmed his commitment to applying the knowledge and leadership skills acquired to further strengthen cricket development across Sierra Leone. He said Cricket Sierra Leone will continue to promote good governance, transparency, and strategic planning while expanding opportunities for participation through school cricket programmes and community cricket festivals to foster greater inclusion and grassroots development.
The successful completion of the TAFISA Certified Leadership Course Level 1 also qualifies participants to progress to the Level II programme, which focuses on advanced leadership competencies, organisational transformation, and strategic institutional development.
George’s achievement reflects Cricket Sierra Leone’s continued commitment to building strong leadership and institutional capacity as part of its broader efforts to develop sport and promote excellence at all levels.
