Mason Remanded Over Alleged Pumping Machine and Generator Theft

A 20-year-old mason, Alusine Alie, has made another appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at the Pademba Road Court No. 2 on two counts of conspiracy to commit a crime and larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on Thursday, 19 March 2026, at Damaya Drive, Hill Station in the Western Area of Freetown, the accused allegedly conspired with other persons unknown to commit a crime.

Count two further stated that on the same date and at the same location, the defendant allegedly stole one Honda 45 K.Y.A generator valued at Le 7,000 and one automatic shingle primary pumping machine valued at Le 5,500, making a total value of Le 12,500. The items are said to be the property of Izick Mustapha Conteh.

When the charges were read and explained to the accused, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Assistant Superintendent of Police Isatu Baba Musa, informed the court that she had served the defendant with a copy of the witness statement.

Magistrate Fornah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence, and ordered that the accused be remanded.

The matter was adjourned to 7 May 2026 for further hearing.
