Vehicle Mechanic Awaits Sentencing After Pleading Guilty to Larceny

Eighteen-year-old Raymond Kalokoh, a vehicle mechanic, has been remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown for sentencing after pleading guilty to a charge of larceny.

Kalokoh appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a count of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused, on Thursday, 12th March 2026, at Connaught Government Hospital in the Western Area of Freetown, allegedly stole four yards of 70mm cables, a 12-volt direct current (DC) alternator, and other assorted items, with a total value of twenty-six thousand three hundred leones (Le26,300). The items are the property of Connaught Government Hospital and were reportedly in custody of Abdul Turay at the time of the incident.

When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded guilty.

Magistrate Jah refused bail and ordered that the accused be remanded at the male correctional facility in Freetown. The matter has been adjourned to 14th April 2026 for sentencing.
