Accountant Remanded Over Alleged Theft of Fuel Card Worth Le157,860

An accountant, Alhaji Seray Bah, has made his first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on a charge of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of the offence, the accused, between May 2025 and March 2026, at No. 4 Dream Atlantic Villa Garden, Lumley Beach Road in the Western Area, allegedly stole a fuel conex card belonging to the Sierra Leone Mines and Minerals Development and Management Corporation.

The card, bearing code number 020693, reportedly contained a total value of one hundred and fifty-seven thousand, eight hundred and sixty Leones (Le157,860).

When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Mabel M. Tarawalie Esq., presented and served the defendant with a bundle of witness statements.

Magistrate Jah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offence. The matter has been adjourned to April 2, 2026, for further hearing.
