Fifty-one-year-old Mohamed Kanneh, a military officer (RSLAF 18179247), has been remanded to Pademba Road Prison by Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No.1 on a charge of larceny, contrary to Section 2 of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at Gaza Checkpoint, Hillside Bypass Road, the defendant allegedly stole one HLX motorbike with registration number AZH 536, valued at Le28,000, belonging to Joseph Kabba while it was in the custody of Mohamed Dumbuya.
When the charge was read and explained to the defendant, he pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, C.S.P Tommy B Zizer, served the defendant with a bundle of his statements, which the defendant acknowledged receiving.
Magistrate Jah refused bail and remanded the defendant to the male correctional facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 20 March 2026 for further hearing.
