On Tuesday, 10th March 2026, National Chairman of Sierra Leone People’s Party Jimmy Batilo Songa received the Chinese Ambassador, during his courtesy visit aimed at strengthening the bilateral relationship between the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).
On behalf of the Party, he welcomed the Chinese delegation and expressed our sincere appreciation to the Government of the People’s Republic of China for inviting a 15-member delegation from the SLPP to the CPC Leadership Academy in 2019.
During our discussions, Batilo Songa encouraged the Ambassador to support the Party with additional leadership training and technical assistance to help build the capacity and skills of SLPP executives across the country.
The Ambassador assured us of China’s continued willingness to collaborate with the SLPP-led Government under the leadership of President Julius Maada Bio to help alleviate poverty and support infrastructural development in Sierra Leone. He also promised to consider our request.
