The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has signed a historic sponsorship agreement worth over Two Million Eight Hundred Thousand Leones (LE 2,800,000) with Orange Sierra Leone in support of this year’s FA Cup, which will now be officially titled the Orange FA Cup 2026.

This marks the first time in Sierra Leonean football history that such a major corporate sponsorship has been secured for the country’s premier knockout competition, highlighting the growing commercial appeal of football in the nation.

Under the agreement, Orange Sierra Leone will provide Closed User Group (CUG) mobile packages for SLFA staff to facilitate efficient internal communications. The company will also deliver 60 Mbps high-speed fibre internet connectivity to the SLFA Headquarters in Kingtom, significantly enhancing the Association’s operational and digital capabilities.

Additionally, Orange Sierra Leone will launch a football-focused Value-Added Service (VAS) and serve as the exclusive title sponsor of the Orange FA Cup, including branding rights and sponsorship of the Man of the Match Award. The partnership also introduces digital fan engagement initiatives, integrating Orange Money for ticket sales, player bonuses, and secure cashless transactions.

The agreement was formally signed at the Orange Conference Hall, Hill Station, Freetown, by SLFA President Mr. Babadi Kamara and Orange Sierra Leone CEO Madam Aicha Touré.

The signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Sports, Madam Augusta James-Teima, and Deputy Executive Director of the National Sports Authority, Dr. Abdulrahaman Swarray, representing the Government of Sierra Leone. Also present were SLFA Vice Presidents Mr. Alie Badara Tarawallie and Mr. Prince Saquee, along with Executive Committee Members Mr. Kweku Melvin Sheldon Lisk and Mr. Foday Anthony.

The landmark agreement represents one of several key achievements by SLFA President Babadi Kamara within a short period in office, reflecting his administration’s commitment to enhancing the profile and commercial value of football in Sierra Leone.
