Twenty-seven-year-old Mohamed Condeh, a driver, made his first appearance before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at Pademba Road Court No. 1 on a charge of murder, contrary to Section 1 of the Offenses Against the Person Act 1861, as repealed and replaced by Section 1(a) of the schedule of the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act 2021 (Act No. 6 of 2022).
According to the particulars of the offense, on Sunday, 4 January 2026, at Chief Compound, off Wilkinson Road in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendant allegedly murdered Gibrilla Sankoh.
When the charge was read and explained, no plea was taken from the defendant. The prosecutor, C.S.P. Tommy Zizer, served the defendant with the case bundle and witness statements. The defendant was not legally represented.
Magistrate Jah refused bail and remanded Mohamed Condeh to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The case has been adjourned to 11 March 2026.
