Bhantal Football Club recorded a vital 3-0 victory over Diamond Stars FC, marking their fourth win of the Leone Rock Premier League season.
Goals from Ibrahim Sumarah Bangura, Abdul K. Turay, and Mohamed A. Kamara helped Bhantal FC claim back-to-back wins in Week 14 of the competition.
The home side started the match with high energy, dominating possession and constantly pressuring the Diamond Stars’ defense. In the 19th minute, Ibrahim Sumarah Bangura opened the scoring, giving Bhantal FC an early advantage and setting the tone for the rest of the game.
Despite creating a few promising chances, Diamond Stars FC were unable to find the back of the net, failing to capitalize on opportunities to get back into the match.
Bhantal FC extended their lead in the 67th minute when Abdul K. Turay struck a stunning volley, consolidating the team’s control and ensuring three crucial points.
The scoring was sealed in the 74th minute as Mohamed A. Kamara converted an assist from Ernest Koroma, securing a comfortable win for the home team.
The defeat continues to highlight Diamond Stars FC’s struggles on the road and their inconsistent form in the first half of the season.
With this victory, Bhantal FC closes in on league leaders Bai Bureh Warrior FC, keeping their title ambitions alive.
In other league action, Star Sport Academy FC and Wilberforce Strikers FC played to a goalless draw at the SLFA Academy. Bai Bureh Warrior FC were held to a draw by struggling Luawa FC at the Port Loko field. At the SLFA ground, Port Authority FC came from behind to defeat Old Edwardians FC 2-1, ending a series of draws and claiming a vital win.
