Two former police officers and one civilian have appeared before Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah at the Pademba Road Court No. 1 in Freetown on two-count charges of conspiracy and robbery with aggravation.

The accused persons are Emmanuel Lassayo Jusu, a 41-year-old former police officer; Sellieu Saccoh, a 37-year-old civilian also known as Sharkor; and Joseph Jeremiah M’bosa, a 34-year-old former police officer.

They are charged with conspiracy contrary to law and robbery with aggravation, contrary to Section 23(1)(a) of the Larceny Act, 1916, as repealed and replaced by Section 1 of the Schedule to the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act, 2021 (Act No. 6 of 2022).

According to the particulars of offence, the accused persons allegedly conspired together and with others unknown on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 December 2025 at the Regent Palace Hotel in the Western Area of Freetown to commit a felony, namely robbery with aggravation.

Count Two further alleges that on 9 December 2025, at the same location, the accused persons, while armed with a pistol (CF 98) bearing serial number SLP-17-018635-275, robbed Javed Saleem, a Pakistani national, of eleven thousand United States dollars (US$11,000) and two thousand five hundred leones (Le 2,500) in physical cash. The charge further states that the accused used personal violence on the complainant immediately before or during the robbery.

When the charges were read and explained to the accused, no plea was taken.

Lead defence counsel, J. M. Jengo Esq., applied to cross-examine two prosecution witnesses.

Magistrate Jah granted the application but refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offences charged. The matter was adjourned to 23 January 2026.

The prosecution is being led by Inspector Mabel M. Tarawally Esq.
