Twenty-six-year-old Sheka Kargbo, a labourer, and thirty-one-year-old Saio Sesay, a caretaker, have made another appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on three count charges.

The charges include two counts of fraudulent conversion, contrary to Section 20(1)(iv)(a) of the Larceny Act of 1916, and one count of accessory after the fact, contrary to law.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Monday, 1st December 2025, at Wilberforce Road in the Mountain Rural District, Western Area, Freetown, the first accused, Sheka Kargbo, allegedly fraudulently converted to his own use or benefit the sum of six thousand leones (NLe 6,000) entrusted to him by Sunday Oyibode for safekeeping.

The second count further stated that on the same date and place, the accused fraudulently converted eight hundred and thirty-one bundles of pure water and other assorted items, valued at fourteen thousand nine hundred and twenty-five leones (NLe 14,925), all property of Sunday Oyibode.

The third count stated that on the same date and place, Saio Sesay, knowing that Sheka Kargbo had fraudulently converted goods valued at twenty thousand nine hundred and twenty-five leones (NLe 20,925) belonging to Sunday Oyibode, received, comforted, harboured, assisted, and maintained the said Sheka Kargbo, thereby acting as an accessory after the fact.

When the charges were read and explained to the accused persons, no plea was taken.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah refused bail, citing the seriousness of the offences charged, and both accused were remanded.

The matter has been adjourned to 20th January 2026.
