President Bio Welcomes New CEC of Orange Sierra Leone, Calls for Improved Services

In a significant leadership transition, President Julius Maada Bio today bid farewell to outgoing CEO Sekou Amadou Bah of Orange Sierra Leone and welcomed his successor, Madam Aicha Toure.

The courtesy visit at the Presidential Office focused on key discussions regarding the improvement of telecommunications services for Sierra Leoneans.

During the meeting, President Bio emphasized the critical role that telecommunications play in the nation’s development. He highlighted the government’s commitment to ensuring citizens have access to high-quality services at competitive prices. “Connectivity is not just a luxury; it is essential for economic growth and social cohesion,” the President stated, urging Orange Sierra Leone to prioritize customer satisfaction.

Acknowledging the achievements under Bah’s leadership, President Bio expressed confidence in Toure’s ability to lead the company into a new era. He underscored that a robust telecommunications network is vital for attracting further private sector investment in Sierra Leone. “Our administration is committed to creating an enabling environment that encourages investment and entrepreneurship within the private sector,” he said, assuring the new CEO of the government’s support.

In her first remarks as CEO, Madam Toure expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and affirmed her commitment to advancing Orange Sierra Leone’s mission. She shared a vision of providing accessible and affordable services that empower communities and stimulate local economies. Under her leadership, the company aims to implement strategies focused on innovation and customer engagement to strengthen its market presence.
