Electrician Remanded for Alleged Wounding with Intent in Freetown

Abdul Conteh, a 23-year-old electrician, made his first appearance before Magistrate Augustine Brima Samura at Pademba Road Court No. 8 on charges of wounding with intent contrary to Section 18 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861. Wounding contrary to Section 20 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861. Assault occasioning actual bodily harm contrary to Section 47 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Monday, 24 November 2025, at 13 King Williams Street, Western Area, Freetown, the defendant allegedly wounded Abubakarr Kamara (Buba) with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Counts two and three further stated that, on the same date and location, Conteh maliciously wounded and assaulted Abubakarr Kamara, thereby causing him actual bodily harm.

When the charges were read and explained, the defendant did not enter a plea.

Prosecutor Detective Police Constable 14898 Joseph Lamin Dumbuya informed the court that the relevant documents had been served on the defendant.

Magistrate Samura refused bail and remanded the defendant to the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 22 December 2025.
