The former Speaker of the ECOWAS Parliament and distinguished Member of Parliament for Pujehun District, Rt. Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, has donated NLe 300,000 (approximately USD 15,000) to the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) Western Urban District Executives in Aberdeen, Freetown.
The donation was made on Friday, 19 December 2025, as part of Hon. Tunis’ ongoing commitment to strengthening the SLPP across the country. It forms part of his NLe 5 billion nationwide pledge aimed at building a stronger, more cohesive, and vibrant party structure.
Similar financial interventions have already been extended to Moyamba, East Urban, Bo, and Tonkolili Districts, with Western Urban now benefiting from the initiative. The donation aligns with the “Big Five Game Changer Agenda” of His Excellency President Julius Maada Bio, which prioritizes “Investing in Tomorrow for a Prosperous SLPP.”
During the visit, Rt. Hon. Tunis paid courtesy calls on party supporters and key stakeholders, reaffirming his unwavering commitment to grassroots empowerment, party unity, and the consolidation of democratic gains. He emphasized the importance of sustaining the developmental strides of President Bio’s administration while deepening political education at the community level.
He highlighted two major focus areas such as effective grassroots mobilization to foster unity, discipline, and progress within the party; and public education on nation-building, with particular emphasis on the ongoing national campaign against drug abuse under the theme “Say No to Kush.”
The SLPP Western Urban District Executives expressed profound appreciation for Rt. Hon. Tunis’ continued support and pledged their commitment to work diligently to retain political power in the 2028 general elections.
The event concluded with the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation to Rt. Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, as party supporters reaffirmed their loyalty, confidence, and trust in his leadership and vision for a stronger SLPP.
