Sierra Leone lawmakers, led by Hon. Boston Munda, Chairman of the Sub-Committee on budget appropriation hearing for FY 2024/2025 have expressed their deepest satisfaction and appreciation for the National Sports Authority’s activities under Dr. Emmanuel Saffa Abdulai’s as the Executive Director. During the NSA appropration hearing on Friday 12th December 2025 in Committee Room One (1), Hon. Munda acknowledged the NSA’s positive efforts in supporting sports disciplines beyond football, despite its significant financial expenditure.
Responding to probing questions from the law-markers Dr. Abdulai thanked the government of President Bio for its unparalleled financial support to sports and appealed to MPs to advocate for an increased funding for the growing sports in the country. The NSA Boss used the opportunity to highlight the benefits of engaging youth in sports, including reducing crime rates and substance abuse in different communities and the country.
The National Sports Authority is an agency of government enacted in 2017 with the mandate to promote, encourage, supervise and regulate all sports and sports related activities in and out of Sierra Leone.
