Komba Sam, Mayor of Sembehun City Council in Koidu, is standing trial before Magistrate Victor S.S. Ansumana of Sefadu Magistrate Court in Kono District on multiple charges, including cyberstalking, incitement, intimidation, and insulting conduct.
The mayor faces five counts in total: two counts of cyberstalking contrary to Section 44(1)(b) of the Cybersecurity and Crime Act No. 7 of 2021, one count of incitement, one count of intimidation contrary to Section 4(i) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965, and one count of insulting conduct contrary to Section 3(ii) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965, as amended.
According to the particulars of the offence, between 29th October and 3rd December 2025, in Koidu City, Kono District, Northern Province, the defendant allegedly willfully and repeatedly communicated with Musa Beretay in a manner that detrimentally affected the complainant.
Count three states that the defendant allegedly incited Musa Beretay’s client, Mohamed Sesay, also known as Black, not to pay the legal fees owed to the complainant.
Count four alleges that the defendant, with the intent to prevent the complainant from demanding payment of his legal fees, unlawfully intimidated him.
Count five further alleges that the defendant used obscene language toward the complainant, saying “get out of my phone,” with the intent to provoke a breach of the peace.
During the latest court session, the defendant was absent, submitting an excuse letter to the Magistrate after the matter had been mentioned. The mayor was not legally represented in court.
Magistrate Ansumana has adjourned the case to 18th December 2025 for further hearing.
