Get Your Care, a fast-growing telehealth company, has launched its new digital healthcare platform and signed a partnership agreement with the IPAM Student Union Government, marking a significant step toward improving healthcare access for students and the wider public.

The launch event, held in Freetown, brought together journalists, healthcare stakeholders, technology experts, civil society organizations, and medical professionals. During the program, the company showcased the platform’s key features, including virtual medical consultations, appointment scheduling, secure patient data management, and integrated payment options.

According to the company, the platform is designed to make healthcare both faster and more convenient by allowing patients to choose consultation times that fit their work or academic schedules.

Speaking at the event, Co-founder and CEO Alice Rosetta Kamayu, along with Chief Appointing Officer Abu Bakar Deen Turay, explained that the platform was inspired by a personal tragedy involving Turay’s late father, a former staff member at the Sierra Leone Police Hospital who died due to a lack of timely medical attention.

They emphasized that the platform aims to close healthcare gaps by connecting patients with vetted medical professionals in Sierra Leone and abroad. The company has already onboarded specialists from the United States, Canada, India, and Dubai each undergoing strict clinical screening to ensure quality standards.

Kamayu noted that the platform is built on a secure cloud-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring that patient data is accessible only to attending physicians. She assured the public that medical data will not be shared without patient consent and will be safely preserved to address long-standing challenges in records management across Sierra Leone.

A significant highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Get Your Care and the IPAM Student Union Government. The agreement is expected to improve students’ access to healthcare services and support pilot initiatives that could later be expanded nationwide.

Early users reported positive experiences, praising the platform’s responsiveness and efficiency. The launch concluded with a Q&A session, media interviews, and photo coverage.

Get Your Care says its mission “Connecting Africa to better health” reflects its commitment to delivering affordable, accessible, and technology-driven healthcare services across Sierra Leone.
