Sierra Leone Water Company Managing Director Tiideni Hawa Jabbi Continues Nationwide Tour with Visits to Mile 91

The Sierra Leone Water Company (SALWACO) has commenced Day 5 of Week 2 of its nationwide tour as Managing Director Ing. Tiideni Hawa Jabbi, the first female to occupy the post, continues site inspections across the country. She was accompanied by Board Chairman Joseph Ndanema and Board Member PC Amy. The tour on Monday, 24th November 2025, began in Mile 91, Tonkolili District, before proceeding to Moyamba and Bonthe Island.

In Mile 91, SALWACO’s Station Manager, Ing. Osman Pele Bangura, welcomed the team and congratulated MD Jabbi on her appointment. He highlighted achievements in improving SALWACO’s efficiency while acknowledging ongoing challenges. Community representatives also welcomed the MD and urged SALWACO to enhance water service delivery.

Board Chairman Joseph Ndanema assured the community that all concerns would be relayed to the Board and Management for action. MD Jabbi thanked attendees for their input and pledged to work with SALWACO management to ensure the company delivers on its mandate and becomes financially viable. She also appreciated customers for their willingness to pay for water services and promised improvements.

In Moyamba, Ing. Yankuba Tarawally, Director of Project Management, reported that local water projects are 70 percent complete, with expectations for timely completion to improve water provision. Station Project Manager Ing. Bayoh echoed confidence in the successful delivery of the projects.

In Bonthe, SALWACO’s Director of Operations Ing. Abdul Ben Lebbie and Ing. Tarawally updated MD Jabbi on project status and mechanisms needed for successful completion. Station Manager Mr. Johnny and his team also provided operational updates.

The nationwide tour aims to give MD Jabbi a comprehensive understanding of station operations, enabling management to intervene where necessary to enhance service delivery and financial sustainability. The tour will continue in Pujehun, Bo, and Kenema before concluding at SALWACO Headquarters at Tower Hill, Freetown.
