A fatal motorbike crash along Masingbi Road in Koidu City, Kono District, on Saturday, 22nd November 2025, claimed the life of Tamba Mattia, formerly of No. 2 Konomanyi Street, Koidu City.
According to police reports, at about 0100 hours on the said date, Tamba Musa Morsay the uncle of the deceased and a resident of the same address—arrived at the Traffic Department of the Tankoro Police Divisional Headquarters to report the incident. He informed police that his nephew, the deceased, had been riding an unregistered TVS Star Sport motorbike at a location known as “Number Two Curve” along Masingbi Road when he was involved in the crash, which resulted in fatal injuries.
Police sources confirmed that upon receiving the report, officers visited the scene of the incident. The remains of the deceased, who was pronounced dead at the scene, were transported to the Koidu Government Hospital mortuary for a postmortem examination.
Police have since obtained an identification statement from the deceased’s relatives and issued a postmortem examination request form. The motorbike involved in the crash is currently being held in police custody as investigations continue.
