An inferno on Wednesday, 20th November 2025, destroyed the official residence of the High Court Judge for Bo and Pujehun Districts, Hon. Justice Francis Banks Kamara. The residence, located within the Government Reservation in Bo, was reduced to ruins.

The blaze gutted the structure, which comprised four rooms, a parlour, and two corridors. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but the damage has been described as extensive.

While the cause of the fire remains under investigation, eyewitnesses told reporters that there was no electricity supply in the area at the time, raising questions about what may have ignited the inferno.

Residents have expressed growing concern over a recent surge in fire incidents in Bo. They cited previous cases, including fires at the former Deputy Director of the Teaching Service Commission’s quarters, the residence of the Regional Commander of the Correctional Service, and several other locations across the city.

Fire Force personnel responded to the scene but reportedly faced challenges due to an insufficient water supply, a problem that continues to hamper effective emergency response in the municipality.

Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant as investigations into the incident continue.
