Mohamed Mansaray, a driver, made his second appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on two counts of illegal drug possession and trafficking.

The charges against Mansaray are as follows: possession of prohibited drugs without lawful authority, in violation of Section 8(a) of the National Drug Control Act of 2008 (Act No. 10 of 2008), and dealing in a prohibited drug without lawful authority, in violation of Section 7(c) of the same Act.

According to the particulars of the offence, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at #107 Peninsular Road, Goderich in the Western Area of Freetown, Mansaray was found in possession of a loose quantity of cannabis sativa, as well as ninety-two wraps of the substance, without lawful authority.

The second count alleges that on the same date and location, the defendant was involved in dealing in a prohibited drug without lawful authority.

When the charges were read and explained to the defendant, he did not enter a plea.

The prosecution, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, requested a short adjournment of the case.

Counsel for the defendant, S.M. Metzeger Esq., applied for bail on behalf of Mansaray, citing Section 76(1)(c) of the Criminal Procedure Act, 2024.

However, Magistrate Fornah denied the bail request, citing the seriousness of the charges. The matter has been adjourned to November 24, 2025.
