The Bo District Council has reaffirmed its commitment to people-centered development with the official launch of a state-of-the-art community center in Bontiwo Village, Lugbu Chiefdom, on Wednesday, 12th November 2025. The project follows comprehensive needs-assessment surveys conducted across the district to ensure that development initiatives align with community priorities.

During the launch ceremony, Paramount Chief Ensa Badara Nallo warmly welcomed the Council’s delegation and expressed his gratitude for the project. He reaffirmed Lugbu Chiefdom’s commitment to collaborating with the Council to achieve development goals and encouraged residents to practice responsible citizenship by adhering to tax obligations, emphasizing that collective support is vital for meaningful progress.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Administrator of the Bo District Council, Vivian Sally Senesie, highlighted the Council’s dedication to advancing development across all sixteen chiefdoms. She noted that the Bontiwo Community Centre was prioritized after assessments confirmed the community’s urgent need for a facility to support social, educational, and recreational activities. Ms. Senesie stressed that sustainable development relies on effective revenue generation and urged residents to fulfill their tax obligations to enable the Council to continue delivering vital services.

In his keynote address, District Council Chairman Victor Kosseh Hindowa discussed the Council’s ongoing development initiatives and explained that the project was initiated by an indigene of Bontiwo and further supported by the Financial Secretary of the Ministry of Finance through the Council. He reiterated that consistent tax payments form the foundation of development, underscoring that no community can progress without adequate financial resources.

Chairman Hindowa described the community center as an ultra-modern structure that will feature multiple facilities designed to enhance social well-being and foster community engagement upon completion. He encouraged residents to take ownership of the project by actively participating in monitoring, safeguarding, and ensuring its successful implementation.

The launch of the Bontiwo Community Centre marks a significant milestone in the Bo District Council’s efforts to promote equitable and inclusive development, ensuring that rural communities receive the support they need to thrive.
