Sierra Leone And China Strengthen Ties as Vice President Juldeh Jalloh Hosts Vice Premier Liu Guozhong

Vice President Dr. Mohamed Juldeh Jalloh welcomed Vice Premier of China, Liu Guozhong, to Freetown yesterday to mark the 10th anniversary of their joint fight against the Ebola epidemic. The visit underscored the strong and enduring ties between the two nations.

During his visit, Vice Premier Liu inaugurated the Julius Maada Bio Industrial Fishing Port, a significant investment aimed at modernizing Sierra Leone’s fisheries sector. The project is expected to create jobs, boost exports, and contribute to the country’s economic growth.

Vice President Jalloh expressed his pleasure in hosting the Vice Premier, stating, “It was an honor to welcome His Excellency Vice Premier Liu Guozhong to Freetown yesterday as we commemorate the 10th anniversary of our shared fight against the Ebola epidemic.”

The visit also included the announcement of a new development package for Sierra Leone, part of ongoing efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation, increase trade, and promote investment between the two countries.

The meeting highlighted both nations’ commitment to fostering a stronger partnership and advancing economic development in Sierra Leone. The Julius Maada Bio Industrial Fishing Port is seen as a crucial step towards achieving these objectives, and the new development package is expected to further strengthen cooperation.
