The road to Africa’s premier squash showdown is open, with Team Sierra Leone set to participate in the highly anticipated Africa Senior Squash Championship slated for Kampala, Uganda, from 17th to 22nd November 2025.
The stakes are high as Uganda Squash Rackets Association organizes the prestigious Africa Squash championship at three different Venues which include Kampala Club Courts Ltd, pearls of Africa Hotel courts and Kibira Country Club Resorts Courts were players from different parts of world will show case their talents.
The event with full backing from the country’s National Council of Sports is expected to draw a big number of players from countries including Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Kenya, Zambia, Namibia and host, Uganda.
According to James E. Fayia, the Secretary General of the Sierra Leone Squash Rackets Association, Team Sierra Leone will be represented by a six-man delegation including four players, Etienne Joseph Henry During, Abdulraman Kamara, Hassan Kamara and Foday Kamara, with a coach and an official, confirming the team will depart for Kampala, Uganda on Friday, November 14.
He noted that Team Sierra Leone participation in the highly anticipated 2025 Africa Seniors Squash Championship is proudly sponsored by Sierra Fishing Company Ltd. (SFC).
“We have the talent and the determination to compete with Africa’s best. This championship is a great opportunity for to showcase Sierra Leonean squash,” Fayia stated, lavishing praises on the association’s president Bassim Mohamed for taking squash to another level.
The association has set aside $15,000 in prize money for the various winners in different categories. Players will compete in individual and team events categories. The approved venues are Kampala Club, Kabira Country club and Pearl of Africa hotel.
World Squash Federation, Squash Federation of Africa and East Africa Squash Federation leaders will all grace the six-day championship event.
