Fifty-nine-year-old Mohamed Sanu, a former ward coordinator, and fifty-three-year-old Kelly Marrah, a pastor, have been remanded to the male correctional facility by Magistrate Mustapha Braima Jah of Pademba Road Court No. 1. They face charges of misprision of treason, contrary to the law.
According to the particulars of the offence, the accused are alleged to have committed the crime on a date unknown between November 26, 2023, and July 26, 2025, in Freetown. It is claimed that they, well aware that treason had been committed by Daniel Keleh Mansaray, alias Ceaser, and other persons unknown, unlawfully concealed the commission of the said treason.
After the charge was read and explained to the defendants, no plea was entered.
State Counsel Yusuf Isaac Sesay Esq. informed the court that he had closed his case, and the file was withdrawn for ruling.
Magistrate Jah, after hearing from the prosecution and reviewing the evidence presented, ruled that there was sufficient evidence to warrant the defendants’ trial. He consequently committed both defendants to stand trial before the High Court without bail. They were then remanded to the male correctional facility in Freetown.
