Three Defendants Await Ruling in Alleged Murder Case

Thirty-one-year-old Foday Konneh, a farmer; Abdulai Kamara, alias “Rasta’r,” a blacksmith; and Ishmael Feika, a contractor, made another appearance before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown.

The defendants face a three-count charge of conspiracy to commit murder and murder, contrary to Section 4 and Section 1 of the Offences Against the Person Act of 1861, as amended and replaced by Section 1(a) of the Abolition of the Death Penalty Act 2021 (Act No. 6 of 2022).

According to the particulars of the case, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at Youth Farm, Loko Feika, Juba Hill in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendants allegedly conspired with other unknown individuals to commit the felony of murder.

The charges further allege that Abdulai Kamara (alias “Rasta’r”) and Foday Konneh, on the same date and at the same location, murdered one Yusifu Bangura.

When the charges were read to the defendants, no plea was taken.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Sorie Conteh, the prosecutor, presented his witnesses, who were cross-examined by the defendants’ counsel, W.V. Kanu Esq.

Magistrate Fornah subsequently ordered that all the defendants be remanded at the Male Correctional Centre. The matter was adjourned to October 10, 2025, for the ruling.
