The General Assembly of the United Team of Pujehun District (UN Team Pujehun) has unanimously agreed to host the 2025 UN Team Conference under the theme: “Transforming from District to National: The Role of Youth in Nation Building.” On November 8th, 9th, and 10th, 2025 at Pujehun District Council Hall, Pujehun Town.

This landmark event will convene youth leaders, policymakers, community stakeholders, and development partners to explore the transformative role of young people in shaping the future of Pujehun and Sierra Leone. Attendees will include government officials, parliamentarians, council members, traditional leaders, private sector representatives, diplomats, educators, civil society organizations, and changemakers.

Mohamed Kallon, speaking on behalf of the UN Team Secretariat, emphasized that the conference aims to harness the district’s potential by focusing on peace, unity, development, and sustainability. It will also serve as a platform to mobilize support and resources for the implementation of the organization’s Strategic Development Plan (SDP 2024–2030).

The conference forms part of the UN Team Pujehun’s 2024 Annual Work Plan Review and the preparation of its six-year development strategy. Key areas of focus include education, health, agriculture energy, technology and Innovation, research, infrastructure, peace and unity and sustainable development.

Kallon recalled the success of the 2024 conference held at Galliness Paradise Hotel in Bo City, themed “Sustainable Transformation and Development for All.” That event laid the groundwork for positioning Pujehun District in the national development spotlight. The organization continues to champion youth involvement, volunteerism, and stakeholder engagement to drive visible development initiatives. Descendants of the district are encouraged to contribute through donations, fundraising, and collective action to foster economic, social, political, and infrastructural growth.

Founded in 2014 as a Community-Based Organization (CBO), UN Team Pujehun gained national recognition on January 1, 2018. In response to growing influence and impact, the organization will officially rebrand during the November 2025 conference as United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL). This change reflects the organization’s expanded mandate to support youth-led development initiatives across Sierra Leone and, eventually, internationally.

U Team SL will operate as an apolitical organization committed to fairness, honesty, trustworthiness, and progress. The founding members and registered representatives will serve as principal signatories in all official correspondence. The organization’s mission remains rooted in building a robust foundation for sustainable development through core values, strategic planning, and inclusive participation.
