Alhaji Abdul Bah, a student, Alfred Mansaray, a student, and Solomon Mansaray, a pupil, appeared before Magistrate John Manso Fornah at Pademba Road Court No. 2 in Freetown on two counts of conspiracy to commit a felony, specifically burglary and larceny, contrary to the law, and burglary and larceny, contrary to Section 25(1) and Section 13(a) of the Larceny Act 1916.
According to the particulars of the offence, on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at T.J. & B. Close, off Pipeline Juba, in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendants allegedly conspired with other persons unknown to commit the crimes of burglary and larceny.
The second count further states that, on the same date and at the same location, the defendants allegedly broke into the dwelling house of Ivan Dekuni and stole one HP laptop and one Lenovo laptop, all valued at 19,000 Leones, the property of Ivan Dekuni.
When the charges were read and explained to the defendants, no plea was entered.
Defense Counsel A.B. Sesay informed the court that he wished to cross-examine the witness. After the witness was cross-examined, Counsel Sesay applied for bail on behalf of the defendants, stating that they had reliable sureties who were willing to go into recognizance. He made his application pursuant to Section 76C of the Criminal Procedure Act 2024.
However, Magistrate Fornah denied the bail application, citing the seriousness of the offences, and ordered that the defendants be remanded in the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to November 5, 2025.
