Sierra Leone National Team Leone Stars will play their final group L. match against the Republic of Benin national team in a neutral venue today at the Lansana Conteh Stadium, Guinea.

The Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) issued a final ruling on the match confirming that the match should go ahead rather than awarding three points and goals to Benin.

The CAS statement also explained that the game was called off by CAF Confederation of Africa Football due to infringement of committed members from the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) as against CAF sanitary protocols.

Sierra Leone was due to host the match but it has now been moved to Conakry because the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown does not meet the required Standard to host the nations Cup group L. decider.

The match will decide the final place at next year’s delayed Nations Cup finals and Benin knows a draw will be enough to see them through to the tournament in Cameroon.

For Sierra Leone to qualify they need a (1-0) win that would see them through instead of Benin, however they will need a two -goal margin of Victory if they concede a goal.

A qualification for Sierra Leone will end the 25 years wait of qualifying for Africa`s number one Football show piece tournament.

The match is going to be played in a closed doors and the Leones Stars team has already arrived ahead in Conakry and will have to train at the Venue by tomorrow before the match day on Monday.
