The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Mrs. Fatima Maada Bio, has announced that she has secured a commitment from the First Lady of Turkey, H.E. Emine Erdoğan, to construct a hospital in Sierra Leone.

This development follows a productive meeting between Mrs. Bio, the Turkish Ambassador to Sierra Leone, H.E. Amb. Yusuf Burak Rende, and the TİKA Country Director for Sierra Leone, Mr. Mirzet Muezzinoglu.

According to Mrs. Bio, the proposed medical center will be built in Bo, marking a significant step forward in improving healthcare delivery in the region.

The First Lady expressed her deep satisfaction and excitement about the project, which she believes will greatly benefit the people of Sierra Leone, particularly women, girls, and children.

The meeting with the Turkish Ambassador and TİKA Country Director focused on discussing the details of the proposed hospital project. Mrs. Bio’s efforts to secure international support for healthcare development in Sierra Leone reflect her strong commitment to improving the lives of her fellow citizens.

The Turkish International Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA) has been working closely with the Sierra Leonean government to implement various development projects in the country. The proposed hospital is expected to enhance access to quality healthcare services, reduce the need for medical referrals abroad, and provide much-needed healthcare facilities for the people of Sierra Leone.

In conclusion, the First Lady’s advocacy for healthcare development aligns with her broader humanitarian work and commitment to improving the welfare of Sierra Leoneans. The hospital project is a significant milestone for the country’s healthcare sector and is expected to have a transformative impact on the lives of thousands.
